There was also the 'proper job' where car travel was deemed 'essential' for doing business day to day. I decided that a 600 mile round journey in a car for a 1 hour meeting was not so essential. So after collecting my golden carriage clock I went and worked for Sustrans for a short time whilst I hatched some plans! The plans were to become Practical Cycles!

Today we have a comprehensive range of cargo bikes, child transportation bikes and delivery bikes borne out of our experience of riding them, and seeing them ridden and used every day in the worlds great cycling cities. We believe that even on a 'regular everyday bike' you can "carry stuff". There are now so many great bags, racks, carriers and brackets that enable you to carry shopping, laptops and work stuff. Our Carradice range and selection of carriers and racks covers this but we'll be adding more to our range during the year. Some people are obsessed by shoes - with us it's bicycle luggage!

Put simply our mantra is that, "you can do more by bike and do even more by cargo bike"!
