Carradice make superb, no-nonsense bike luggage in an old mill in Lancashire. They are - sort of - the Brooks of the cycle luggage world.
This bag doesn't require any fancy brackets or clickeckty-click integration system. It simply attaches around your saddle rails (or saddle loops if you have them) and also via a strap that velcros around your seat post. Access to the bag is via a large plastic buckle. Rain and mud is banished from the bag by way of a drawcord closure under the lid. The robust cotton duck that the back is constructed from is waterproof and has a plastic wheel splash guard on the underside - which is great for muddy, non mudguard-toting trail riders. There is also a zip pocket on one side and a mesh pocket on the other - great for valuables and wet gear. An LED light can be mounted on the lid loop. A reflective strip on the lid makes you visible in the dark.
